Juan Armando Díaz Baracaldo – Drummer, Percussionist, and Servant of God

Juan Armando Díaz Baracaldo is more than a drummer — he is a vessel with a purpose. Born in 1994 in Sancti Spíritus, Cuba, Juan has dedicated his life to glorifying God through music and touching hearts around the world with every beat, every rhythm, and every melody. From a young age, he felt a deep calling to express himself through instruments — a passion that led him to graduate from the prestigious Alejandro García Caturla Conservatory and the National School of Arts of the Republic of Cuba, earning a gold degree in classical percussion, Cuban percussion, solfeo (music theory and ear training), piano, and drums.

At just 17, Juan won first place at the renowned international drum festival Fiesta del Tambor, and by 19 he had already released two acclaimed projects — Buscando lo Imposible (2013) and Cuba Hard Drums (2014) — collaborating with some of Cuba’s most respected musicians. After moving to the United States, his career flourished. He has recorded and toured internationally, performed on iconic stages like the Latin Grammy Awards and NPR’s Tiny Desk, and built a global reputation for blending technical mastery with spiritual depth.

Throughout his career, Juan has been part of major productions and performances in the Latin music industry. His artistry has brought him to some of the most prestigious stages and jazz festivals in the world, such as Ronnie Scott’s (London), Pescara Jazz Festival (Italy), Alba Jazz Festival (Italy), Canarias Jazz Fest, Halifax Jazz Fest, Monticello (Chile), among others.

But for Juan, music is more than entertainment — it’s a mission. His 2024 independent project Just God reflects his deepest conviction: that every note is an opportunity to honor Jesus Christ. Through his work, Juan seeks to remind the world that talent finds its highest purpose when it serves something greater — and that even the loudest drums can become instruments of grace.

Today, with over 350,000 followers across social media and millions of views on his viral videos, Juan continues to share his message through tours, recordings, and digital platforms. His life and art stand as a powerful testimony to a simple but profound truth: with God, nothing is impossible.
